Haven't been in the Vancouver airport in many years. Forgot how beautiful and filled with art it is. (Is it just me, or was that kind of Yoda-like?) Very civilized! My wonderful daughter and her sweet boyfriend drove me to the airport at 4:30 am. 😵 Now I am brunching on Eggs Benny and espresso while waiting 4 hours for the Beijing flight.

An adventure in colour and texture on fabric at Carriageway Studios, Almonte
Cost: $75 (includes all supplies) - Register via the Contact page of this website.
Remember Colour by Number? This is almost that easy, so it’s perfect for someone who has never painted on fabric before.
Even complete beginners will learn how easy it is to add colour to fabric with water-soluble wax pastels and then embellish with texture by adding sculpted cheesecloth for the mane. Then you will mount your finished piece on 11x14 canvas panel, ready for framing.
Mary will provide the pattern, and show you her trademark technique of sculpting cheesecloth for the mane and how to achieve a luminous watercolour look on fabric. No sewing required! Join us for a relaxing Sunday afternoon playing with some new fabric techniques.
I have just scheduled two workshops at Carriageway Studios - Cheesecloth Portraits (Saturday, Nov. 5) and Paintstiks from Start to Finish (Saturday, Dec. 5). Please visit the Carriageway Studios website for details.
